The Hilltop Inn, like most country inns, has a story to tell...

Built by Bill Lanning in 1988 on leased land from the Ball Corporation The Hilltop Inn was known in those days as the Broomfield Guest House. He operated for years as a successful corporate B&B. Since he designed and built the inn himself, there are a lot of amenities not normally found in your typical inn, such as a fireplace and kitchenette in every room.

John and Maureen Odde purchased the property on April Fool's Day 2002...no foolin'! The Oddes opened Wildflowers Cafe in June 2005, and quickly realized a cafe just wasn't special enough for this unique property. Maureen is a tea fancier and native of Northampton, England (our logo is the coat of arms for her maiden name "Collier").

She was inspired by the idea of a tea room here. Wildflowers Tea Room quickly became well known, and a U.K. restaurant (Irish, Welsh, and Scottish as well as English fare) was the logical next step.

So what's next? We feel Robert Frost said it best... "Two roads diverged in a wood, and I... I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference."

The Odde family has made the Hilltop Inn an enjoyable retreat from the madding crowd...a quiet workplace for the weary traveler, a romantic getaway, and they continue to expand on the Wildflowers Restaurant's reputation as the Front Range's premier spot for U.K. fare and English teas.

I always try to stay at this hotel when visiting my daughter who is attending a nearby university. It's pure comfort. The rooms are large and clean. The proprietors and staff treat you as family. The hotel has a restaurant and bar on the premises and is conveniently located to lots of shopping and restaurants.

We spent several nights at Hilltop while visiting family in May. The owner and the staff are all lovely and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything that we needed. Our room was huge and very well-equipped and the breakfast was really outstanding. A superb choice if you're visiting Broomfield.
